ABOUT LIGHTHOUSE HOMESCHOOLERS
Our History
Lighthouse Homeschoolers started in 1991 with about 10 families. Over the years the group structure and leadership has changed to accommodate its growth. Though there have been many changes since its inception, Lighthouse is a cooperative of parents that strives to meet the needs of the families within the group. Field trips, educational events, social activities, and parent/teacher support are the major focus of the group.

OUR BOARD
Our board is made up of volunteer homeschooling parents who are here to help you!
Lighthouse Homeschoolers is a Christian led organization. Our Board of Directors is required to sign a Christian statement of faith, and we seek to glorify God in all we do. We are not an exclusively Christian group, meaning that our general members are not required to sign a statement of faith. It has always been our goal at Lighthouse Homeschoolers to be a light to all homeschool families in our community, and we welcome you to join us on this journey!
Feel free to reach out to any of our board members for help!

MAURIE LIEBER
President
Maurie is our co-op Director. She oversees many areas. Maurie is married to her super supportive husband, Christopher. Together they have 4 boys: Chris, Westley, Maverick and Sterling. They are entering their 7th year homeschooling and she gives all glory to God for that. She loves planning parties and helping others along their homeschool journey. She has a background in theater and music and loves to explore with her boys.

BAMBI EGGERT

Bambi serves by overseeing the Lighthouse website. She has 5 children: Caitie, Chloe, Ronan, Declan, and Finnegan. The three boys are currently homeschooled while the girls have graduated. Bambi grew up in Lakeland and is a "retired" high school English teacher. She currently is the afterschool manager for Family Martial Arts. Her family decided to make the switch to homeschooling in 2019 so the kids could learn at their own pace and focus on things they are interested in doing.

STEPHANIE KANITZ
Secretary
Stephanie is the Secretary for the Lighthouse board. She processes applications and greets members who sign in at the teacher meetings as well as keeping us all recording all of our minutes during board meetings. She and her husband Dan have been married since 2006 and have two children; Sebastian and Aurora. They have been homeschooling for 11 years and have lived and traveled all over the world, but finally settled in Florida in 2016. After finishing her degree, she became a stay at home wife and mother. Her and her husband feel very blessed to be on this homeschooling journey.
